Delete a piece of Gear

If you need to delete a piece of gear, this article gives you the easy steps.

Note: Be aware deactivation is the same action as delete and once Gear is deactivated it cannot be activated again.

Before you can delete any Gear, you'll need:

• Security clearance of a PeopleSafe Coordinator
• Security Clearance of a Manage User if that person was the creator of the gear item

Steps:

1. Login to PeopleSafe, click on the Gear Tab in the top menu to see the Gear dashboard.
2. Click on the Gear, Plant and Buildings box on the bottom left to open the Gear screen which lists all the gear records.
3. Find the Gear item you want to delete. You can use the filters or the Search option to help you.
4. Click on View.  The Gear Item profile will open.
5. Click on the Options button in the top left. A drop-down list will open.
6. Click on Deactivate.
7. Click Yes in the pop-up if you are sure you want to deactivate/delete this piece of gear.
